
Adventure 100 is a centenary challenge that all members can take part in. It can be done as individuals, sixes or as a unit. 1st Carluke Brownies have embraced the challenge as a unit.
There are 10 adventures within the centenary challenge. We had to complete at least 1 challenge from each adventure and collect a minimum of 100 points. Some of the challenges have still to be completed but we can now all wear our special Adventure 100 badge.

Floating On Air
We had a parachute party!
We played lots of games using the parachute and one of our brownies even made her promise in the middle of it.

Grow Tall
We all planted sunflowers to grow this summer.
Fingers crossed they all grow really tall.

Challenge 2 -
Stay Safe
We had a visit from the local community Police Officer.
He spoke to us about the importance of fluorescent clothing and reflectors on our bikes.
He also showed us the inside of his car and explained about the different flashing lights.

Twinkle Lights
We found our all about the festival of Diwali.
We made traditional Diwali decorations, sampled traditional Indian sweets and decorated tea light holders.

Nocturnal Animals
We had a visit from the Clyde Valley Owls and Hawks.
We all got the chance to wear a special handling glove and let the birds sit on our hands.
We found out lots of interesting facts and enjoyed a flying demonstration.

Challenge 2 -
Water for Life
We discussed why water is so important for our bodies and the way we live and ways to conserve water.
We also had lots of fun sampling different flavours of water - we voted Strawberry & Kiwi our favourite.

Challenge 3 - Water Water Everywhere
We went a visit to Lanark Fire Station.
We were able to see important fire fighting equipment and learned about the job of being a fireman.

Live Theatre
We went to see the Pantomime Cinderella at Hamilton Town House just before Christmas.

Challenge 1 -
Chill Out
We invited our mums to a Virgin View makeup fundraising night. We served our mums mulled wine and mince pies and they were able to look at lots of samples. Brown Owl was given a make over and all the girls earned their hostess badge.

Top and Bottom of the World
We discussed the Arctic and Antarctic and the animals that live in these regions. We found out why some animals in these regions are under threat and the problems climate change is causing.

Challenge 1 -
Centenary Launch Party
All the rainbows, brownies and guides in Carluke met at the recreation centre for a party. We were able to try out lots of fun activities including bouncy castles, bucking bronco, face painting, sumo wrestling and team games.

Finale
At 2010 on the 20th October 2010 we will all have the opportunity to travel to Hamilton Racecourse and join hundreds of other girls renewing their promise.

Challenge 1 -
How Many Wheels
We had to take a journey and try to count how many wheels were involved in our travel.
We took the bus to the pantomime and were able to spots lots of different wheels including: steering wheels and wheels on buses, lorries, vans, cars and motorcycles.

Challenge 2 -
Shape 100
This involved creating the shape 100. We managed to make a 100 using brownies, Diwali lights, and biscuits.

Tasty 100
We have managed to collect 100 recipes. We hope to use these recipes to make a fund raising cook book which will be on sale very soon. Look out for all the fantastic food illustrations drawn by our brownies.

Centenary Moments
This is all about making sure every brownie is able to remember what they did during out centenary year. We have lots of pictures and will complete out centenary scrap books after the summer holidays. We have also shared out centenary moments with everyone here tonight.

Challenge 5 -
2012 Olympics and Paralympics
We are planning to hold our very own mini Olympics at the Guide Hall. This event is going to be rescheduled for after the summer holidays due to a school in-service day on the original date.

Girls Shout Out
This challenge is all about getting our voices heard in the community. A local MSP, Aileen Campbell came and talked to us about the work she does helping people in our area. We asked lots of questions about being an MSP and what goes on in the Scottish Parliament.
