We had a sponsored walk round Lanark Loch to raise funds and at the same time compeleted the Guiding Walkabout Challenge.

The girls had to complete a worksheet as part of the Walkabout Challenge, the theme was 'The Senses'. The girls had to 'see' something starting with each letter of the alphabet, they had to 'hear' six different sounds and 'touch' things that were smooth, rough, bumpy, cold, warm, jaggy and soft. We had to make a scrap book with all our answers, photos and pictures, and stories about the walk written by the girls.

Thank you to all parents, friends and pets who came along and supported us. And thank you to everyone who made donations.

 

June 2009

Our final event of the year was a Hawii Tropical Party. Great fun was had by all with a Hula Girl photo session and Hawiian themed games, including Slide the Flip Flop, Beach Ball Waddle and the Aloha Potato Sack Race. Photographs of this event can be seen in our gallery.

 

Centenary Celebrations

To celebrate 100 years of Guiding there will be a year of celebrations starting with a local event in Carluke Recreation Centre on the 5th September 2009. The Centenary Finale will take place the following year with a county event at Hamilton Racecourse, when all the girls in Guiding will be renewing their promise.
