Pack Holiday

We had a brilliant Pack Holiday from the 16th to the 18th of March 2007. We went to Avondyke Training Centre in Stonehouse. There we stayed in a large wooden chalet with two dormitories and bunk beds!

Our Theme

We had an Easter theme at Pack Holiday. We had special names for all the places in the chalet and we had to call the leaders by their special names and not by any of their normal names!

What We Did

We did lots of fun things on our Pack Holiday, just look at all the crafts and activities we had to keep us busy!

Friday We made diaries and covers. Every day we got a chance to put stuff in our diaries about our Pack Holiday.
We had a quiz. It was a Guider and Brownies Challenge.
  We made badges and posters.
Saturday We made a bunny hop decoration.
We had an Easter Egg hunt and an Egg and Spoon race outside.
  We played Hunt the Chick.
We did our Home Safety Badge.
We did some more crafts and made spring lambs, a bunny egg holder or a napkin ring.
  We made Easter crowns.
We played games - Charades, Rapid Dough, Pictionary and Headbands.
Sunday We made a Mothers' Day bag.
  We had a Badge Ceremony.

To make sure all the chores got done we had a rota. We had to help the Guiders and we were given roles as Slaves, Cooks, Waitresses or Dishwashers! Everyone especially liked being a slave because it meant you got to clean out the toilets!

If we did our chores well we got points for our group. We were also given points for good behaviour.

Our Brown Owl heard a rumour that we had a midnight feast on the Saturday night! Did we? Well that would be telling!

What We Achieved

All the girls who stayed for both nights completed their Brownie Holiday Badge and all the girls who were there on the Saturday completed their Home Safety Badge.

Mother Hen (Elaine) was also assessed and passed her Brownie Pack Holiday Licence qualification! Well done!

What Fun We Had!

The girls would like to say a BIG thank you to all the guiders involved for their hard work in preparing for the holiday and giving up their weekends.

The Guiders would like to say a BIG thank you to the girls for coming along, behaving so well and enjoying themselves.
